I graduated from BNU with an Honors in BFA (2008) and then  obtained a diploma in teaching (2008-2009). I was fortunate enough to have been the second graduating batch of BNU and to have had the opportunity to learn from a faculty of contemporary, practising artist; Rashid Rana, Mirela Radulescu, Huma Mulji, David Alesworth, Masooma Syed, Risham Syed, Bani Abidi, Fareda Batool, Salima Hashmi, Razia Sadiq, Malcolm Hutcheson, David Alesworth, Julia Ahmad, Sadaf Chugtai, they all inspired much of my personal practice. Every student yearns for an inspiring environment to grow and explore their personal selves, BNU helped develop my critical capacity to discern art works, participate in a fresh and exciting time for contemporary Pakistani art and open my practice to many possibilities and avenues - including the realm of new media and approaches to art that had yet to be considered or sustained in the Pakistani art scenario at the time.  The same teachers are now friends, contemporaries and mentors. It is a rare opportunity to find a sanctuary where the enthusiasm and zeal for all our mad ideas as students were accepted, encouraged and given the chance to manifest.

Ever since my graduation, I have been actively participating in group and solo exhibitions as an independent artist.

I co-founded a creative space by the name of Mantiq of the Matis in 2016 (to date) and have been involved in different modes of teaching and counseling since 2016. The current dean of SVAD Rashid Rana and the head of the SVAD Fine Art Department, Risham Syed have both been extremely encouraging and supportive of my practice. Studying at BNU helped me grow into a teacher to continue the transference of knowledge, and once again, learn from students themselves.
