Success Stories from BNU - School of Computer and IT - Waleed Ahmed Tahir:
I applied and got shortlisted for BS (Hons.) Software Engineering at SCIT, BNU ten years ago. At that moment I wasn’t sure about my goals and didn’t have any objectives, I was just passionate to get a degree in Engineering, a typical goal for a boy from a very humble background. I was a 17 year old boy from Faisalabad and had no clue what I had got myself into but graduating after years of hard work and invaluable learning, I realized it was the best thing I could have ever done. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Shazia Rizwan (HOD SCIT), Mr. Nouman Ali Shah and Mr. Natash Ali Mian who were a constant support for me and brought out the best in me.
Right after graduation, I started working at Nielsen(American Based Market Research Firm) as a Cartographer and as a side job worked at 422Talent (Media and Talent Promotion House) as an Editor. In April 2018, I got promoted as Senior Data Analyst and Research Senior Executive in Quality Control Tower of Data Acquisition and started working full time at Nielsen Pakistan, I was asked to extend support to manage Portal Technicality and Jira Service Desk for Pakistan. Nielsen is a Technology based market research company, operational in 150+ countries with clients such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, Unilever, Nestle, Colgate-Palmolive, British American Tobacco, Phillip Morris, Hilal Foods etc globally. Right now, I am working as an Assistant Manager Pakistan Delivery at Nielsen and recently started extending support as Data Analytics trainer for Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan (12+ countries).
It’s been 4 years since I graduated from BNU, but I still fondly remember my time there and the impact it had on my life is indescribable. Thank you BNU for all the great people that you brought into my life, you’ll always be in my heart.
