Success Stories from BNU - Institute of Psychology - Nauveen R. Dubash:
I graduated from the MS/Mphil Clinical Psychology program at the Institute of Psychology (IP) in 2012. For the next 2 years, I continued to work at BNU as a visiting faculty member at IP during daytime, and practiced as a clinical psychologist in the evenings.
In 2014, I left Pakistan to pursue a M.Sc. (A) in Couple and Family Therapy at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec (Canada). In the years that followed, in addition to finishing the CFT program at McGill, I also studied and learned French and passed the provincial French language exam required for professional licensing in Quebec. Currently, I work full-time as a psychotherapist at the Student Wellness Hub at McGill University. I also have a private practice, and work at Montreal Therapy Center as a couple and family therapist.
In all these years, BNU continues to hold a special place in my heart. I have tremendous respect and gratitude for my professors at the Institute of Psychology who not only helped me build and hone my clinical skills, but have also been very supportive and encouraging throughout this journey.
The quote “A tree stands strong not by its fruits or branches, but by the depth of its roots” (Anthony Liccione) resonates in many ways. No matter how far ahead you go and grow in your journey, it is important to remember, acknowledge and value those who guided and helped you map it. Hence, throughout the 5 years that I’ve been away, I always try to visit BNU to meet my wonderful team of professors at IP whenever I’m in Lahore. I look forward to it every time.
