Success Stories from BNU - School of Media and Mass Communication - Behzad Taimur:
I graduated with a BA (Hons) Mass Communication [Gold Medal] from BNU in 2014. I went to the US, where I enrolled in America's oldest and only "Communication for Development (C4D)" program at the Ohio University, Athens. While there, I also enrolled myself into a Master of Public Administration program. I completed both graduate programs concurrently in a record 17 months and 25 days. Thereafter, I worked with the International Economic Development Council, the world's largest organization of it's kind, in Washington DC. I returned to Pakistan in 2017 and have worked extensively with public and private firms.
Most notably, I've worked and taught at the Information Technology University of the Punjab, Pakistan's "MIT". Here, I administered a portfolio of extramurally funded research projects that amounts to PKR 130 million plus.
The research grants I have managed have included ones by National Institutes of Health, US; National Academies of Science, US; Higher Education Commission Of Pakistan; and, PUAN-US Consulate. I continue to lead international consortia engaged with public health- and development-centered research, that comprise top-tier universities across four countries, including University of Michigan Ann Arbor, University of California Davis, University of Cape Town, Liverpool Hope University, among others.
Currently, I am working at LUMS.
